A picture maybe? My B7100 runs the FEL off the tractor hydraulics - no external pump...

The ones I've seen with a front pump use a chain coupler between crank and pump.

thanks u guys-----i typed that thread in too much of a hurry----yes, the pump is linked to the crankshaft which runs the fan belt. it looks as if to change the belt, i've got to pull the pump and the front of the tractor, and the radiator!!! this cant be right. doesn't look like there's any way to tighten the belt?!

If you are changing fan belt, yes, you will have to disconnect hyd pump. You should NOT have to remove radiator and there should be a tensioner pulley above the oil filter.
