Some of you have followed my saga with overheating. After a lot of tinkering I think I had a bad thermostat all along. The problems started with a stuck thermostat.

I added a temp gauge a while back (mech) and moved it up to the old amp gauge spot. Since my alternator quick working and I'm not about to spend $550 for a new one, I can now stare at both temp gauges.

The first pic is the tractor running, right after some mowing. The second pic is after the engine was turned off. Normal rising in the temp. The Kubota temp gauge will rise faster and probably more because it's in the head. The aftermarket gauge is right under the thermostat, just outside of the head.
