Opening Hood with a Broken Hood Latch?

I posted on the general repairs and they sent me over here.

We have a Kubota L3400 and the latch to open the hood was jammed. In our attempts to unstick it, we broke it and now it just spins around. We need to clean the filter, etc. Any ideas on how to get inside the engine compartment?

I would appreciate any comments.

Got a pic? I am not sure how that latch works, but there has to be a way in. Someone with a L3400 will probably have the answer for you. In the end, it will probably involve a new latch though.
