awesome machine!! very operator friendly, 350 horses, all controls are on the joy sticks except the a/c control.

very smooth, and light thirty thousand pounds, no overheating problem in south texas when it was 104 outside.

i am impressed:thumbsup:

Looks like something I've seen before, but I can't place it.

Versatrac Industries

Seems light for a 350HP steel track machine at 26K lbs.

How did it compare to your Bron 400?

They made the Fecon 350. I think Versa Trac is now owned by a certain Canadian Mulch head manufacturer..that now also sells their excavator power packs....

It only has a 30 gallon hydraulic capacity, but flows at 140 GPM. This means that the entire contents of the hydraulic system are being circulated almost 5 times every minute.

On a machine of that size and horsepower, Why not have a 150 gallon hydraulic capacity? The weight of the extra fluid wouldn't be an issue. Just asking? Seems like a design error to me?

They're using a similar machine to clean up all the tree in and around the interstate interchanges between all the trees and grown up brush, leaving nothing behind but nice looking mulch. It really changes the way the interchanges look.

the size of the hydraulic tank is dictated by the air bring back to the tank with your conventional return filter. The sucction/return filter you don't return oil in the tank with air because you are under 7psi pressure. At the same time you presurise you pump succion and prevent cavitation. the Versatrac 350 is using a power management on the head's pump, it' a kind of overdrive. The oil circulated to the tank is from the accessory & charge pumps and not from the closed loop, so the oil will run 2 times every minutes in the filter and the tank. this is why we have a superior quality of oil and we don't need more the 40 gallons tank.
hope my explanation was helpfull.
