Careful with the names and don't confuse Huskee lawn tractors with Husqvarna lawn tractors.

Huskee is a "store-labelled" brand made by MTD and is sold by Tractor Supply, among others.

Husqvarna, often called Husky, is a part of American Yard Products (AYP) and Frigiidaire -- and makes a higher quality product line than the normal MTD machines, including one of the top-sellling lines of chainsaws in the world.

The American Yard Products name was gone a few years ago, it's now just Husqvarna Products, they still make the Craftsman tractors for Sears and a few other names.

Husqvarna used to be part of AYP, but is now HOP (Husqvarna Outdoor Products) and they either own or build under licence under the following names, Jonsered, Yazoo, Dixon, Bluebird, Poulan, McCulloch, Flymow, Weedeater and a few others. They also build tractors for Areins to sell in the box stores and Sears Craftsman tractors. Electrolux spun them off to concentrate on indoor appliances about 2 years ago. Husqvarna's web site indicates they employ close to 9,000 people and sell a LOT of stuff world wide.

Correct, HOP is Husqvuarna. They make most of Sears's outdoor equipment with the craftsman name.
