Finally warmed up enough to start working on making some sort of maintenance hatch for the ZD28. I have never had the platform off it before. Unbolting it was simple, 6 easy to get at bolts. The problem then was it couldn't get over the brake pedal. I unbolted the pedal, got the platform off and cut a slot in it behind the pedal so I don't have to remove it to remove the platform. As easy as it is to get off now, I might not go any further. After seeing the mess of dirt and grass that collected underneath it, I want to remove it and clean it out anyways. I'd like to take the plate off under the seat before doing anymore. 4 easy to remove bolts. Problem is I don't know how to take the knob of the deck height adjustment. Does it unscrew or just pull off? I tugged on it pretty good and it didn't budge.
I see on the new ZD's the plate and platform are one piece and hinged under the seat. I don't think I can do that because of the brake pedal.
