I posted this in the general buying forum but thought it might be more fitting in the LS forum...

So Ive narrowed it down to either the 2023 or 2030...they have everything I need at a great price, and I can use a FRONT mount snowblower which will be 10x easier for my wife than having to back down our driveway...

My question is, is the +5 HP the 2030 has going to make a noticeable difference in anything? The biggest turn off for my with the 2030 is that is has the single-peddle design which I really dislike. The 2023 has the two-pedals.

If the 2030 had the twin-peddle design Id get that hands down...but I really dislike the single pedal. The 2023 is ~$800 cheaper than the 2030 which doesnt matter to me (although saving $800 is always nice!).

Anybody else dislike the single pedal but grow to like it?

I got one response in the other forum pointing out the extra HP only translates to +2.5HP at the PTO...I cant help but think 2.5HP is pretty much insignificant?

As for its intended use, it would mostly be used for FEL work in summer and snowblowing in the winter...Ill most likely pick up a rake to keep our long driveway smoothed out too.

The 2023 actually has a higher FEL capacity than the 2030 too ironically...so when it comes to FEL work the smaller 23 sounds like the better choice.

I was in the same situation between the g3038 and the g3033. I ended up buying the g3033, and I personally don't think 5hp is going to make that much difference. I did not want to pay the extra $1000 for 5hp.

On a daily use basis, you'll never miss the 5hp advantage of the 2030 over the 2023, but you'll always notice (and regret) the difference in the pedals.

Go with the J2023 and be happy every time your toes touch the controls.

Side by side comparison shows the 2023 has more capabilities.

I was in the same boat a couple months ago. I bought the 2023. The dual hyrdo pedals are a HUGE improvement over the treadle pedal. Then you also go from a 8.6gpm hydro pump on the 2030 to a 9.2gpm pump on the 2023. And then you have what I consider to be a big increase in loader capacity with the 2023.

It was a no-brainer for me. My biggest advice would be to factor in the cost of having the tires filled with fluid. I don't get enough traction with mine.

I definitely would load your tires on either one. I did a DIY filling my tires w/ RIMGUARD -total cost for both rear tires was $120.00.

How do you like the 2023 so far?

I'm undecided between the 2023, wait for the new 2027, or move up to the G/XR 30hp tractors...

The 2023 does not have the SSQA loader attachment correct?

I'm actually luke warm about my 2023. Biggest problem I have is that it gets ZERO traction without 4wd engaged. I've got 18 hours on it and I've gotten stuck 4 times. I was planning on being fluid in the tires this week since I had a day off, but then the tractor developed an engine problem so I had to use my day off to take it back to the dealership for service.

I would not go to the 2027. For a little more you could jump up to the bigger 3000 series. That's a lot more tractor than the J Series. I went with the J Series because the SCUTs were too small and the 3000 series models were a lot bigger than I would ever need.

I have 26 hrs. on mine & LOVE it. I've removed 2 large tree stumps digging down 2ft. to get to the roots & multiple logs w/o a problem all w/ the fel. For the price & its size this tractor is hard to beat. If your in Ct. stop by SETARO MOTORS in Waterbury- GREAT guys. It does NOT have the SSQA.
