Anyone know why these tractors lift capacity is significantly less than other brands comparable tractors? FEL ratings seem to be similar. Local dealer finally recieved an XR 3037 yesterday, so he let me take it for a test drive befor being delivered to a customer today. He didn't know why the 3 point rating was lower. It sure seemed like a sweet tractor tho!

That's a good question....I can't answer it, but I'd like to know as well. Realistically, 1,800lbs is probably more than enough lift for what most people do with this size machine, but I could see a few situations it would be a drawback (skidding big logs, or a 3pt forklift mast).

I got the same answer when I asked about the 3 pt. lift capacity.

My previous 2615 Mahindra (26HP) 3 pt. could lift over 2200 lbs. My XR3037HC 3 pt. lift cap. is only rated for 1808 lb. (400 lb. less than the smaller 2615)

On the other end, the 2615 loader was only rated for about 1100 lb lift. The 3037 loader is 2182 lb. (Almost double)

It's very rare that I would need to lift over a ton on either end of a tractor. With my 2615 I pushed the loaders limit on several times. No problem with the 3037 loader.

I may have mentioned this before but my main reasons for buying the XR3037HC are:
1) Snow removal in winter with increased loader capacity.
2) A nice warm heated cab. (Having A/C in summer is nice too)
3) Having 2 rear remotes. Currently using 1 for loader thumb.
4) Having a standard skid steer compatible Quick attach loader for various attachments.
5) Having adjustable, extendable 3 pt. arms.
6) Extra tractor weight. (over 1000 lb. heavier than previous)
7) Lower Price with more standard features and options than other brands.

Thanks for the replies. It's not a deal breaker by any means. I can't imagine needing more capacity than this has. I really want to pull the trigger!

I skid pretty good size logs with my JD 770 (rear lift of 800 lbs at 24''), so the 1800 lbs (which I think is really only 1600 or something at 24'') didn't really scare me off. So far I haven't found anything I needed more lift for. I will say it is odd that the loader is rated for more lift than the 3 pt.

Yeah, it would need to be a pretty big tree before it became an issue. I skidded some pretty good size trees with my 8N, so I know what you're talking about....similar 3pt lift, or maybe a bit less.
