That formula looks right...but for everybody who thinks pia is something your wife makes on holidays....heres a handy chart. The "none" in the rod dia column is for "push" on a single rod cylinder. It a quick way to see the difference between sizes. I would be careful going to larger cylinders because the force goes up fast. For example going from 1 1/2" to 2" almost doubles the force. IMO the loader rating is based more on what the front axle and loader frame can handle not the cylinders.
