I posted in another thread asking if the 3316 was intercooled and DI, direct injected because that is what the Mahindra web site stated in a comparison to other manufacturers. I sent an E-MAIL using the website links and did ultimately receive a response after about two weeks; I got my answer here very quickly. There is no intercooler, and it is indirect injected.

I replied back to that Mahindra E-MAIL that they need to correct their website as it was in error. It has not been corrected.

I also tried to use the 24/7 user site but as others have reported I also got the response that my SN did not exist. I used the E-MAIL contact but am still waiting on a response after 1 week.

If my attachment works there will be an image of the incorrect comparison. I probably should say incorrect title information about the 3316 HST as I don't believe the comparison is incorrect.

Don't believe the error is insignificant? One may not want an intercooler as one more thing to get dirty if air to air type; or one may want same for the performance advantages. DI is generally more efficient (although possibly more noise ignoring current modern electronic injection) than IDI and pre-combustion chambers. Neither were a stopping point for my purchase but I don't like to see incorrect information on a manufacturer's website. I also believe if a manufacturer can not respond to E-MAIL in a timely manner they should consider removing any form of E-MAIL links.

So far I have 6 hours; I guess 5 are from me.... and am happy with the 3316 HST. I had no urgent need of the 24/7 owner's care; just wanted to see what was available.

My suggestion to Mahindra is to get a new web master and do something to improve E-MAIL response. I have no issue with my dealer and he will be my first link in case of issues with the tractor.

Bob

The manufactures, almost all based in Asia, which sell here with many differing decals, do indeed have a web presence that if often out of date, somewhat confusing, and so forth. The perception one gets is that of lack of communication between the divisions of these companies. Perhaps we also are confronted with deep cultural divides and certainly language barriers as one reads manuals and other printed materials that limped their way through translation.

Point being? It isn't just Mahindra. Good on you for trying.

Have you read your owners manual yet? I know that with my 3215HST it shows conflicting information from one page to the next. :(

Yes I have read the owner's manual and there are lots of oppurtunities for improvement there too.

Now just don't ask me a test question as my 'retention' just isn't what it use to be.

My guess is that Mahindra has had their share of cut-backs with people and those left are trying to manage for those gone. I know on the original request for information I got an automated response that one of the people was no longer with the company. Just guessing on my part considering the economy.......

Well Bob,:)
Guess you will have to keep guessing with the rest of us.;) Weights in manuals .vs website are off also.:confused2: The only way I found the true weight of my Big RED Beast as equipped was to take her (there's that word again Brian) to the local salvage yard and put her on their scales.

Mahindra turns world topper in tractor sales, says MD
Mumbai, Feb. 19 -- Mahindra and Mahindra has become the world's largest seller of tractors in a year. The auto maker sold one-lakh tractors between April 2009 and February, 2010, vice-chairman Anand Mahindra "tweeted" on the microblogging site Twitter. "Day (we) celebrated crossing sale of 1 lakh tractors in 1 year. On our journey to becoming largest volume sellers of tractors in the world," said the Twitter message from Mahindra, who is also the managing director of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, the flagship company of hisRs 30,000-crore sales Mahindra Group. The 100,000th tractor was handed over at a special event organised on Thursday. "We achieved this feat between April 2009 and February 18, 2010. We are on a growth path, growing marginally in access to market rate and hope to continue that way," Sanjeev Goyal, senior vice -president of Mahindra Tractors told Hindustan Times. "TAFE, Escorts etc. are our competitors in India," he said. To mark the event, the company announced grants worth Rs 101 lakh to students and scientists from 10 agricultural universities across India.

Well somebody read the E-MAIL or saw this post as they have corrected their website information for the 3316. Good for them, I'm glad they got it corrected. Accurate information best supports good integrity; mistakes happen, it is how one reacts to these challenges that best reflects the individual or company.

Thank you MahindraUSA for correcting same.

Now if I just knew my serial number to try the 24/7 owner's care site. Currently out of town all week stuck in hotel in St. Louis on business trip.

I bought a 4035 in Jan. 2010. The tractor is great but the 24/7 support is not any good so far. It took 3 months for them to register my tractor before I could check out the 24/7 support online. Then, I find that neither my 4035 tractor nor my ML120 loader is listed online. When I asked the online support about it I get a bunch questions (my name, ser. #, phone #, email address) and told it would be brought to their attention. I can't believe this tractor has been for a year and they don't have support online for it. :confused2:
