Re: kobota bx25 vs mahindra max 25
For what you've said about your present needs, and future plans, I'd take a HST over shuttle, or gear transmissions. Shifting just isn't what I care to do a lot of. It takes too much time. Also, the HST is less prone to problems. The MSRP for the HST is $14,310, tractor only. A difference of $1,000 over the shuttle. If you only kept the tractor for ten years, ask yourself if it will be worth, roughly 27 cents a day to own what you really want.
I thank God for these gifts: 2005 Mahindra 2615 HST w/loader, (485 hours), and 3710 backhoe. Markham tooth bar, Bush Hog SQ60 rotary cutter, Bush Hog 3507 angle blade, Bush Hog LLR84 landscape rake w/gauge wheels, Rankin loader mounted forks, Paumco Quick Spade, Agri-Ease 3 point log splitter.

Re: kobota bx25 vs mahindra max 25
Thanks all, I have put in a call to the dealership but I think it was too late yesterday when I called. Your logic is sound, given that someone were financing, especially. My situation is that I'm not. So I need to consider this carefully. Monday they can let me know if the 30 day trial thing is a reality or not (but I think you're right- seems like I heard that somewhere as well). Incidentally, when they delivered it yesterday morning it was raining, and it continued to rain ALL DAY and I didn't get to so much as drive it in a circle, hahaha. Frustrating! As I write to you know I am eyeing it and am about to go give it a whirl!

Just don't get close to the 10 hour mark. The less u use it, the more pleased they would be to make a switch. The next customer would like that tractor to have less hours on it, and your dealer knows that... Pretend u r the next guy to get that tractor new, and treat it accordingly.
Mahindra website should reveal the 30 day trial as current or not. If u don't see it, u don't have to mention that in your call to the dealer. If u "assumed" the 30 day trial was in play at time of purchase, the dealer may feel like honoring your assumption....even if the promo is over.

You know, all you HST guys, some people really prefer a shuttle transmission so let's be careful to not assume what we enjoy is the only good choice. I'm an HST convert at this point as well, but there is nothing at all wrong with a good manual transmission. They do give a little more power, use less fuel and you can run them at low rpm when you don't bneed the power. Plus they are cheaper.

That's true. But he posted originally suggesting it was his REGRET... All suggestions in responses, were to help him with his regret. Fortunately, he still has options. I recommended he ask u his questions, consider his options, even if he thinks he might keep the gear trans.

Re: kobota bx25 vs mahindra max 25
If you do decide to swap to a HST, regardless of whatever promotion Mahindra may be running (30 day trial or whatever) or not, most dealers will swap you out to another model if you do it right away. It is a hassle if they have already registered the sale with Mahindra as they have to undo that, nobody likes doing the paperwork for that. The system isn't designed to "undo" things very well. Just ask right away and don't put any/many hours on your machine. The dealer wants you to be happy.

Re: kobota bx25 vs mahindra max 25
Well, men, I decided to keep the shuttle shift and have been very happy. I just submitted my review on this site, which should be up whenever the moderators finish checking it over, I suppose. Thanks for all your earlier help!
