New to the forum, have enjoyed reading everyone's opinions.
Quick question, can anyone tell me how SLOW 1st gear is in a Mahindra 25 series (4025) vs. 35 series (4035) or 8x2 vs. 12x12 tranny. I have a vegetable farm and I need/want something that can go as slow as .5/.6 mph for transplanting. Want a gear tranny rather than HST to also put disc/chisel plow, etc. Thanks again for the input, I'm hoping someone has some info from their owners manual they can share. Really liking what I'm hearing about the 4025 from various owners.

My 5525 is 2WD with 8F/2R tranny. IIRC ground speed in 1st low is more like 1 mph at pto speed (around 1950 rpm on the engine). I don't have the manual near me now. I'll look it up and post back.

Transplanting? YOu mean setting out seedlings? Rototilling?

If you need really slow speeds, HST is the way to go. My first tractor was a 2005 Kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto, 4WD, power steering) and the LA302 FEL (4-ft wide bucket, about 800 lb lift). Cost new: $12.6K plus tax.

I put in my landscaping (about 1/3 acre) and the vegetable garden (about 1/5 acre) using the 7510 and a middle buster plow to loosen the soil and then made several passes with my rototiller (a Yanmar RS1200, 48" wide) to bust up the clods. HST made that job easy.

Good luck.
