A relative got a 2810 4wd with shuttle shift and I have a few questions. He got it used with 180 hours on it and it didn't come with an owners manual. It leaks a little from the bevel gears on the front end, which makes it collect dirt on the inside of the front rims. I took the top plastic plug out and had a look inside. I could see the drive shaft and no oil that I could tell. (didn't have a flashlight handy) But I know it does have some because the left front rim had a couple of fresh drips.
What is the proper level of oil in the front axle? What type of gear oil is needed? Also where can you get an owners manual? Can you get service manuals for these things? (would like to redo the seals on the front end) Thanks |

I've got the hydro version, same front end, I think. I cannot remember what weight gear oil I used, though I can check when I'm home this weekend. I believe the plug on the left front top of the axle has a dipstick on mine. www.mahindrausa has a dealer locator on their site if you want to order manuals locally. Otherwise send a pm to one of the dealers who frequent this Mahindra forum and they'd get the manuals for you. I have seen some of the manuals on e-bay as well.

Just fill the axil housing enough so the oil covers the axil shaft which you can see. Use 80w90 gear oil.
