Default 2615 Ticking sound

Hello all,
I have a question in reference to my 2615, I noticed the other day when I was plowing some of this snow we just received, after the tractor warmed up a bit, it started ticking. I can't say exactly from where but it sounds like its comming from the engine...any ideas? I don't beleive its a valve, the engine runs great and has plenty of power...

Does it only happen after it's warmed up? And is it only when it's moving, or when it's sitting still? The only "ticking" sound I had to hunt on my B7100 Kubota turned out to be the hour meter, which was simply an electric clock that ran any time the key was turned on, whether the engine was running or not.

I really don't have any idea where your ticking sound is coming from, but I would try unhooking the hour meter cable from the engine and see if the sound goes away. Just something to try. Good luck!

Is the hour meter cable sealed? I know if you disconnect the cable on a truck or car it voided the warranty (or at least it did when I was in the business). Will disconnecting it void the warranty on the tractor? On a car it could only be done by the dealership and they needed to record it to keep the warranty in place.

Something to think about.

Okay fellas, I have some information to pass along. I am not happy over the news that I got today on this "ticking" noise however I was informed it was loose valves. The tractor is less than a year old, 11 months to be exact, and it only has 73 hrs on it. Now is this normal for the valves to need adjustment after that short period of time..? If so I am concerned for the longevity of the tractor.

I have sold a lot of 2615's since they first came out and I have yet to adjust the valves on one, so I know it is not common. Have your dealer check it out well when he adjusts them, to make sure something isn't wrong causing the misadjustment. Probably just adjusting the valves properly, will solve the problem and it will not need to be repeated for a long time. Good luck with it!

That is what I was thinking about the valves. I dont know why they went out of spec. What other kind of problem could make this happen? Anything serious...? Is this something that Mahindra will cover and should they be informed of it?
