dlearyfun,
I am not trying to change your mind as the 30 series tractors are very tough machines, and will definately out work the smaller 4110. But the cold starting issue, I believe you are wrong, as in 6 1/2 year selling Mahindra I have never had a 4110 fail to start no matter how cold. The engines in the 30/00/20 series tractors, I always install a block heater as when it gets below 10 degrees you will need it. I admit when you can turn the direct injection over fast enough, they fire and are running smoothly immediately. The indirect injection, on the 4110 doesn't start so smoothly but with the glow plugs it always starts. Also, I am not a small guy, so I know the feeling on the 4110 and I usually install brackets, which I make, that raises the seat 2 inches and sets it back 1 1/2 inches, which makes all the difference in the world. Like I said, I am not trying to change your mind, just stating facts as I know them. Good luck!

Thanks for the info Galen. You are apparently correct on the block heater thing as the 5530 I am looking at when I get back to the dealer the end of the week has a block heater. I will now be taking another long look at the 4110 and should I decide to buy it instead of the 5530 can I buy the seat brackets from you? Dick |

It's been a long time for this response, however I have been waiting for my tractor for almost 2 months. I decided to go with the 4110 instead of the 5530 after trying both on. My main reason for picking the smaller one is that I will be spending much time in the woods pulling out firewood and I felt the 5530 was just too large for that job. Also, the exhaust going up was a concern. At any rate, I finally took delivery late this afternoon. This took awhile because of weather and also the roads have had weight limits posted. But it is now here and I am ready to go to work. Also got a woods 6' brush hog. Tomorrow, I will be outside getting familiar with the tractor as this in my first. It sure looks nice. All red and shiny. I guess that will not last long though. My thanks to all of you for your advice and ideas. This is a great resource that I will continue to use and who knows. Maybe after awhile, I can even contribute.

Hi Galen;
No I have not had the seat raised. I asked the salesman about them doing it for me and mentioned you having done it for your customers. When I suggested they contact your dealership about the procedure, I got an emphatic "No they could not do that". ****, we are all in the same family, are we not? Why do such minor details cause such major problems? Anyway, I would like to do it and would have no problem doing it myself. If your parts dept has the brackets in stock that you use, let me know. When the tractor arrived late yesterday, I was really excited about trying it out. The guy that delivered was very helpful and answered my questions. After he left, I had some time to check things out. I had it delivered with a Woods brush hog and noticed that one of the adjustable brackets that keep the implement from swinging from side to side was touching the left tire inside sidewall. Also, one of the cotter pins that keep the hitchpins from slipping out of the hitch where it attaches to the brush hog was not inserted. Also, the pto cover was missing. I am not real happy about the dealer prep because of this. I had to remove the Woods and readjust the brackets so there was clearance from the tires. I plan on calling the salesman tomorrow to express my disappointment. Hope this is not the start of a long painful saga. |

seems like you made a great choice with that 4110! those Mahindra's seem really tough built tractors. i wish they had a dealer closer to me so that i could take a serious look at one of those 30 series. those sound like the ticket to me! congrats on your purchase, keep us informed of how you like it and dont forget to post pics!!
