Default fluids and lifts

hi y'all
i talked to the service dept for my mahindra. i wanted to add some fluids ro my tractor - thought they were low after inspection. received advice to use hydraulic fluid in the transmision case and the hydraulic system of my 4505DI. told it was what everyone is doing now- confirm?. secondly - i have loader lift, but limited 3pt lift. he said to check the knob down and in front of the seat. everything was working, then one day ... i'll take comments and advice.
thks, michelle

Michelle, I'm thinking that you should look to "trans-hydraulic" fluid. Question: Is your hyd pump run off the trans or is it located near the front of the engine on the right side (facing forward)? BobG in VA
