Default 4110 frt axle nosiey

axle makes clicking rubbing sounds, fluids all full, 4wd works fine. could it be something easy?

Check the bolts that bolt the front axil to the tractor frame. They have been know to loosen and when the axil shifts a little the drive shaft will act like what you are explaining. Check this soon before things get worse.

thanks for the info, the bolt were loose a year ago or so. will check to see if it has shifted, i have done a lot of dirt work on a 30 by 40 shop that i built.i rased the the tractor with the loader and spin the tires the the whole axle assy sounds nosiey is this normal

When mine is all in good condition there is very little noise when turned by hand slowly. You can always hear a little gear mesh and/or a little slop if rocked back & forth but no growling or grinding. This is all assuming you're not trying to spin the wheel at 30 mph - 3 times as fast as it's supposed to be going. The drivetrains are much more forgiving of minor wear & tear simply because of the speed that they operate. I've had my share of front axle problems, you can review my posts over the past 4 years.

We have a noisy 4110 in the shop now and it had a few teeth missing on the front ring & pinion . Make sure you use enough counterweight when using the front loader because you want the rear axles doing at least 75% of the work not the front .
