Default What Type of Diesel Fuel??

My 2816 has a sticker on the fuel tank that says use low or ultra low sulfur diesel fuel only. My dealer gave me a full tank of offroad diesel(red) when I bought the tractor but I was noticing at my local fuel station that only the highway diesel(yellow) says ultra low sulfur. The offroad diesel has no such markings. My question is all diesel considered low sulfur, including offroad, or should I only put fuel that is marked low/ultra low sulfur, which in my case is highway diesel, in my tractor.

Thanks

Diesel is typically all the same except for the dye(tax)

You'll be fine with the diesel your buying at the station, just be sure it's a place that has a high turn over, less change of getting water in the fuel. You also might want to add some additive like Diesel Kleen every once in a while to a tank in the summer and then every tank full especially in the winter.
But as far as the fuel the red is for offroad use and is not taxed by the state and my understanding is it's intended for farm use.

Thats what I was thinking, but just wanted another opinion. The tax is like 10 cents gallon but I'm not giving anymore that I have too. Tax Tax Tax.

Thanks for the help.

Rite - puting the red dye in the fuel don't change it any.

the ultra low sulfur diesel creates less pollution than other kinds when used in a modern engine that is designed for it. i use it in my 2007 dodge pickup because i do not want to give the dealer an out of any kind in case a warranty issue came up. when the warranty expires i will go to red as long as it remains cheaper and available. yes that is right, i don't care about any pollution i create. if i did i wouldn't own a diesel truck and tractor.

fwiw my mechanic swears by seafoam as an additive in all engines. he uses it in fuel and in oil just prior to an oil change. like i said...fwiw..........

Good luck on not getting caught down the road, it can be expensive gamble..

More of a question than a statement as well - On your 2007 pickup, if you don't run the ultra low sulphur diesel (which around here isnt commonly being dyed yet or sold except as highway fuel) isnt it suppose to be bad for the particulate burner/emmissions stuff if you dont use ultra low??
