Default 3325 with 78 hours won't start

My 3325 will be 3 years old July 2009. I put a new battery in the tractor a month ago. I put in what was called for by the manufactor. It started and ran well.

I went out last evening and tried to start it. I put everything in netural turned on the key all the lights turned red as they should. It turned over once or twice or about 2 seconds then it went dead. All the lights and gagues are dead.

What could possibly be wrong?

How about your head lights, do they come on? You might also have your battery checked at some auto store under a load to make sure it's still good and how about the battery connectors are they good? Really sounds light a dead battery or one that's not being recharged correctly. Have you measured the battery?

Dead Battery, check connections, give it a charge and see what happens.

Battery not charging is my guess.
Why?
Bad cell (it happens occasionally with new batteries--infant mortality).
Problem in the battery charging circuit -- blown fuse, alternator problem, voltage regulator.
Put the battery on a charger for 24 hours and see if you can get started. If not, take the battery back and get it tested. Should be under warranty.

First check the battery connections at both ends of the cables.

I agree with Galen. If the battery and connectiions chek to be in good working order, it could be the 30 amp "Max Fuse". If this fuse is blown, it would cause the same symptoms that you are experiencing.

I found he problem. I left the head lights on. I put a trickle charger on the battery. After the battery charged the tractor started right up. It has started everytime since.

The 3325 is still a problem free machine. Operator error is the only problem I have had in three years.

Don,

Are you sure that's the problem? On my 3525 (2007 model), all of the lights go through the ignition switch... nothing's on the "hot bus", so to speak. I would assume (but I know what happens when you do that ) if you turned the key off, the lights should have gone out as well. I would think that with the 3325 and 3525 being so similar, the wiring would be identical. But, maybe not.

And, 78 hours in 3 years? Get out there and work that thing!!
