Default 7520 Fuel gauge stopped working

Can anyone help me with this? I was cutting some overgrown land the other day and snagged a stump with my step (that also hold up the fuel tank). It pulled off one of the fuel lines and broke the step off. Well, got all that stuff fixed and now the fuel gauge reads full all the time. It does go back to empty when you turn the key off. I checked the wires from the sending unit back to the plug(just inside the fender). I can't tell anything is wrong. Any suggestions?
