Default Quick help needed- hydraulic hose-pump?

I just came in from a job and must've run over something that hit one of the hose clamps that connect that little short piece of hydraulic hose connecting the single large metal line under right footrest. I replaced the clamp, but a pretty steady drip. I figure the clamp nicked the line.

Is this a standard piece of hydraulic hose, and what size? Is it a pressure location? It is just rear of the large cylinder thingy. (Sorry for the technical terms )

I need to get this fixed right away, so fast responses are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

- JC

If it's a big hose with just a clamp holding it on then it's a suction/return line, so there is little pressure. But you must fix it properly to prevent the system from sucking air and causing your fluid to foam.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

From memory, I think it is the return line to the hydraulic filter.

I was wondering if I need to get regular reinforced hydraulic hose without ends, and what size?

I could take it off and measure, but would like to get the piece first and have it handy so I can *pretend* I am not going to lose all my hydraulic fluid

You're in Westminster, MD? I lived in Finksburg for about 5 yrs a while back. Nice area, especially the Farmers' Market.

Unfortunately I cannot help with the size, but any good rubber hose should work well.

Yup, Westminster...

As Kenny said and good rubber hose that is rated for hydraulic fluid, but not a reinforced hydraulic pressure hose, as I don't believe you could clamp it down well enough. Good luck with it.
