Default Where did this come from?

Changed the fuel filters for the first time on my 6500 FWD and found a 90 degree grease zerk laying on top of the cannisters. It had been broken off at the base. It is painted gray as if it was on the chasis or engine. Are there any zerks above the filter cannisters around the injector pump? I do have a FEL but all the zerks are in tact there and are red anyway. Anyone have any ideas?

My guess is a zerk off of the power steering actuator rod ends "popped" off and landed there.

These kind of things are somewhat disturbing to me. Time to give the beast a once over I guess.

Thanks everyone......I'll have to crawl over it and see what I can find. Didn't really think there would be anything like that around the injector pump but have already discovered that I just don't think like an Indian engineer.

I guess I don't think that way either, but the "00" series engines were designed by a German firm that has been building diesels since WWII (or before). AVL if my memory serves me correctly. BobG in VA
