Hi,
I have a Mahindra 2615 HST (bought Jan 2009 with 120 hrs as a dealer demo from Flagstaff Equipment, now has 180 hrs). It's a great tractor
! Tractorbynet is also a great resource for me as a first-time owner. I've been reading these forums for months and have learned a lot, but this is my first post.
My question--I bought some NAPA 85-405 Premium Heavy Duty Tractor Hydraulic & Transmission Fluid to top off my transmission on advice from NAPA parts guy. According to the can, It "meets JD J20C, Quatrol Case IH, Hytran Plus MF Permatran III Specs". Is this fluid OK to top off my Mahindra HST? When I do a complete change of fluid, is it OK to use this?
My 2615 HST came with a Land Pride BB2560 box scraper, and FEL ML106. I have added a Value-Leader (Hanmey) slasher brush mower 42" SL-110 bought from Betst on ebay, and it has worked well too. I go thru a lot of #2 shear bolts for brush mower due to rocks and buried metal--see note about metal below, but I get them from HomeDepot bin for 11 cents each, so no big deal. I also have a nice home-made harrow for grooming our arena thanks to previous owner of our property.
I use my tractor for manure management from our 4 horses, arena grooming, brush mowing (5 acres, mostly grass and tall wildflowers--RockyMountain Bee flower), snow removal (150x50 ft driveway in Flagstaff, EL 7000'), moving dirt and cinders around, making drainage swales, pulling fence posts, helping to build our pole barn, etc. The 2615 has been very sturdy and reliable--has started no problem at 0 degrees last winter. I also have some heavy chains that I use from draw-bar to drag stuff to my dump/salvage area since the land we bought has lots of scrap metal and wood buried here and there (previous owner was welder/metal worker)--the tractor makes this work much easier. Had to put slime in my front tires to deal with frequent punctures from the metal though.
Thank you for any advice on hydro-tran fluid, and for this forum.
