Well, it's that time of year again. Time to do the annual oil change on the 3215 tractor. She's goin' on 4 years old, can't believe it. Put a whopping 68hrs on her this year too.:laughing: The clear coat on the hood is peeling pretty good now. Dealer never did get back to me about repainting it. Other than the paint finish, the tractor is holding up fine, especially mechanically. Back on topic, I decide to cut open my old Japanese Denso oil filter, just out of curiosity. Was suprised by what I found. The filter material can best be described as compressed felt, forming 12 large pleats. The material was saturated with oil,firm and brittle. I could easily break small pieces off. There were no top or bottom "lids" like American made filters. Pretty interesting stuff. Never seen pictures of any oil filter insides looking like this.:confused:
