My 3510 Mahindra owner manual shows a tranny dipstick on the left rear axle.

I ain't got one! How do I check the hydraulic fluid??

There is a small tube that seems to be welded to the axle and is welded closed on the top. I bought it new and its never spent the night out of my shed.

ready to do a 500 hr service and noticed - NO DIPSTICK

Whats up with that?? :confused2:

my 2810 gear has a fill port and a sight glass.... not sure if the setup is different on a 3510 or not.

No sight glass that I can see, the welded rod is where the manual drawing shows a dipstick.

How would I check the fluid level with only the fill hole accessable?

I can't imagine how this would have happened to your tractor, but that is exactly where every 3510/4110 dipsticks are located.

I wonder if the tube is where the dipstick goes in and it is a factory issue that was missed at quality contol inspections???
It seems to be solidily attached to the axle and welded closed at the top. I tied to turn it with channel locks until they slipped and I stopped so as not to damage it.

I am going down to the lake where she is tomorrow and get some good pics for you guys to see.

:ashamed:

I really feel stupid :confused2:

That little rod welded up is actually where the oil dipstick goes and the 'weld' is hard dried dirt!
I guess the dipstick has been missing a long time and I never noticed!
I have gone to a couple of Mahindra dealer sites that offer parts breakdown and can't find the dipstick. The rear axle housing shows where it should be but no dipstick. I found the hydraulic filler plug and the engine oil dipstick but not the hydraulic one.

Could the engine oil and hydraulic dipstick be the same?? The tubes look the same.

I could really use some help finding this part!!

The part# is 16323040020 and is $10.25 plus shipping.

Thanks Galen,
I need hydraulic filters also. Can you tell me which one fits my tractor?

How do I contact your parts dept to order?
