Re: Looking for comparable tractor to 8N.
I'd look at the 30-35 hp HST 4WD tractors with 5-ft FEL. Nothing built today is comparable to an 8N which is a pretty primative tractor compared to new modern tractors.

Did u have product (80/90w gear oil, chevron grease?) in your gear box? Was it at the proper fill level?

I haven't looked at it yet. But now mines at least 4-5 yr old. It hasn't seen no more than 30-40 hrs of use. I have been using my bush hog for the most part.
