2001e350di mahindra , runs great till you bring the throttle up to the 540 PTO mark or past, will sputter with smoke and can smell diesel from the smoke, fuel filters are new, drop below those rpm's runs great even under a load , any ideas what would cause this?
How's the air filter look is there a restriction in the air supply?
Have you bled the air out of the fuel system?
Bled air out of fuel system, air system seemed fine
Have you changed the fuel filter and checked for water in the tank?
I would check for obstruction the fuel line if the above did not work. Also is the fuel filter connected correctly?
Does your smoking and shuttering look lik this?

Don't have a Mahindra, but it sounds like you are over fueling or have an air restriction. If the there is no restriction in the air intake system (check it thoroughly), I would suspect the injection pump/governor or whatever controls it if it's not mechanically governed.
I will check for restrictions in the fuel and air systems, I will post what i find, thanks for the help guys
Did you ever figure out what the problem was ? I think you jinxed me 'cause mine is doing it now...not a big deal 'cause I'm turning her in for the 50 hour check, couple of other minor problems as well, one zerks fitting doesn't want to take grease, etc...warranty is a wonderful thing !
Just wanted to know so I could pass on to my dealer...
