Re: Tractor Fire
since I'm assuming the starter was down low on your engine, any chance that line got whacked by a ground hazard? Do you work in the woods?
sad to see your new tractor get hauled off like that, bye Molly, come back soon.
sorry this happened to you.

Re: Tractor Fire
I got in there - it is all very projected - lots of heavy steel around there - seems just like a very poorly placed hose - we will see what they have to say tomorrow

Re: Tractor Fire
No thanks - test drove several greens - as well as all the other colors - ended up making my finial choice based on the local dealer and overall value.

Re: Tractor Fire
I would suggest everyone that has a 4035 check to make sure they have no fuel or hyd lines near the positive lug on their starter. Just to make sure... I checked my 5035, and the closest lines to the starter lug are the power steering lines, and are about three or four inches away. A quick looksee on your tractor only takes a minute....

Re: Tractor Fire
You and OP did the right thing. If kids playing with mathces or whatever have been known to wipe out neibhborhoods houses, etc imagine letting a tractor burn out on its own. I bet that Bota dealer would not say that if a tractor was on fire near his house.
To op glad no one was hurt, you bought a nice tractor but if it was me and was getting another under warr/ins I'd want a 6530.
Different beast I know.

Re: Tractor Fire
I've got a deisel leak on a hose or injector some where in that same area, also my ignition switch just crapped out with a huge storm last night that I just spe hrs plowing, could have been worse, glad the plowing is done, needed to get it to the dealer for the leak anyways, makes me wonder if you also had a leak and a spark lit it up since there are a lot of wires in that area..love my 4035, great tractor if not a few gremlins to work out......
