Mahindra 5525
I have a 5525 and the dealer sent me the wrong oil filter. I believe its for a 7520. Can I use this filter, it looks the same just longer?

I would check with the dealer that sent it to you.

If your tractor is a Tier 3 that is the filter Mahindra recommends, if is Tier 2 the shorter filter is the correct one. IMO I don't think it will cause any ill effects to use the longer filter on the Tier 2 engine.

How do I know if it's tier II or III? It's a 2009 4 cylinder deisel 5525 if that helps.

scsims,

If it is a 4 cylinder engine with no turbo, it is Tier II. If it is a 3 cylinder turbocharged, it is Tier III. The 5525 is one of very few Mahindras that have multiple engine filter requirements depending on build date. Your tractor should use p/n 000020316E05 or 006008549C1 for an oil filter. Tier 3 uses 006008803F1 or 006002508F1. Unfortunately, I am not sure if the Tier III filter will work properly on the Tier II engine. Just my $.02
