Anyone get a rock/brush with grapple on the 2538? Any recommendations on kits and buckets?

EA Wicked grapple. 54" or 60". They also sell the WR Long 3rd function kit which is a direct bolt on and works well.

Single Lid Wicked Root Grapple Lightweight Strong Large opening SINGLE LID

Compact Tractor Dual Lid Wicked Root Grapple from Everything Attachments DOUBLE LID

Best Rated 55 Inch Wicked Root Rake Grapple from Everything Attachments Root rake design

Here is the 60" Single Lid Wicked on my 2538 (Most used attachment by a LONG shot and works great when brus hogging in the woods and moving deadfall and limbs around...) You really can't go wrong with a grapple. Here is one more thread with tons of discussion on wide vs narrow and one vs two lids: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/267492-wicked-root-debris-grapple.html

Good luck!

Would a grapple be the ideal tractor attachment for removing invasive honeysuckle bushes? Thinking one could slide the bottom teeth underneath the root ball and pop the bush up and out? These bushes are much to large to mow at this point. Thanks for any help!

Yes. Dig the teeth in and drive right through that rootball dragging all the roots out along the way.

Welcome to TBN!

I went with the stock options from Mahindra. Worked well so far and done everything I asked it to. I think the aftermarket stuff is cheaper and has more to offer from what I have read. Small brush and shrubs are easy to move once you get the hang of it. Just takes some time to learn where your bucket is at. One of the most handy things you can do is put that 3rd function on with a grapple-- at least for what I am after doing.

I'm a new 2538 owner, what should I expect to pay to have the Everything Attachments WR Long 3rd function kit installed?
Loving the tractor by the way!

My 2538 has 2 lines on top and 2 on the bottom of the FEL valve,my question is which one is the power beyond?

I think it is a pretty simple install and could be a DIY, but my tractor was at the dealer anyways, and I did not want to mess with a power source, so I think I paid for two hours of time. (Under $200+/-)

Mine only has one line out the top of the loader valve as you can see in the picture above. The PB is routed in series through to the 3rd function and then main line back to the rear. Perhaps this post could be helpful to you.

I have the 2538 CAB. I have the WR Kit and EA 66" Single lid.

Kit was a bit of fun to install, but not a big deal for an average mechanically able person.

I am not a fan of EA not including a bracket for the ends of the hoses on the FEL. I understand their idea of leaving them loose, but I have a lot of free play and the hoses can get caught.

The grapple is a solid bit of kit. It works great on larger and heavier items. I am less enamored with it for brush. Their root rake looks like it would handle smaller brush, etc better.

Overall I am happy, but for my use I would rather have gotten this version:
