Anyone else have a fuel leak (spraying from the fitting on the line from the common rail to the injector, at the rail end)? Mine developed one at about 65 hours, and I didn't notice until fuel started spilling on the fan belt! Then I noticed ...
It turns out that the #1 fitting is extremely shy, and won't let you get to it with any amount of wrench swing. I checked all of the other fittings, and they were quite snug. This one was not. One would figure that it would be more accessible during initial assembly (EGR stuff in the way when engine is installed).
After hitting it with two different wrenches (found a slimmer one that allowed me a few more degrees) from four different access points (it's buried!) I got it equally snug with the others (using them as the exemplar, as close as my human torque metering capabilities would allow!)
It may be worth checking; I'm sure it started out as a slow leak, as I could smell diesel fuel. I do a bit of PTO work so that made it worse.

thanks for the info. I will have a look at my 2555 this weekend.
