We bought a 1533 with loader and backhoe last month for our densely wooded 5 acres in Rockport, Texas.

It was chained to a big live oak when the CENTER of Hurricane Harvey passed DIRECTLY over the property late last week as a strong CAT 4 (measured 147 mph winds).

We went down yesterday to survey the damage.
Unfortunately, I'll never live long enough to see the Live Oaks like they were, but we'll make do as soon as we figure out what that means.

The Mahindra wasn't visible at first under the remains of 40-50 foot live oaks, but we found it and I crawled in there and she fired-up on the first crank.

After 2 hours of chain-sawing, and some less-than-expert tossing of logs with the backhoe, she was free.

Only damage was a small dent in the hood.
I mean to complain to Mahindra that their tractors apparently aren't designed to take a direct hit from a CAT 4. Who knew?

It's always better to be lucky than good, but it helps to buy ****-for-stout equipment to start with.

That was a very close call! Surprised so little damage.
