I changed the filter and fluid in my Hydrostatic drive yesterday.
The Manual that came with my tractor is for a unit without a mid mount PTO, but this tractor has one. The manual also shows pulling the plate off where the mid mount PTO is and cleaning a screen in that location. Has anyone with a mid mount PTO changed there fluid yet and have you pulled the PTO to clean the screen? and if so what kind of problems did you have? Thanks Dave in NH 2810HST |

I changed my hydraulic oil in mine this spring & missed cleaning the screen, although not intentionally. My father-inlaw came over, started talking & helping, & I just missed it. If anyone has cleaned the screen & found any amount of debris, I'd like to know. I'd most likely change the fluid again, not missing it this time. I used a Wix 51586 filter from Sanel's in Concord. They had it in stock & it was a direct cross for the OEM filter, which was another name brand, just sprayed grey.

Thanks for the info.
I ordered my replacement filter from NE tractor and they had it shipped right from Mahindra. I am not sure what I am getting into by dropping the mid mount PTO to get at the screen. The manuals I have just show a blank plate. Dave in NH 2810HST |

My manual shows a hydraulic line running into the side of the mid-pto & mentions removing the flexible elbow, then the plate which is held on by two bolts, the screen should be behind that plate. I just looked under to verify & it looks as it should.

Another brainstorm, I'll copy the page in my manual at work this week & try to scan it in. If it doesn't scan clearly, PM me a fax # or your address & I'll mail that page to you. It sounds like the manual has been updated. It's still a translation from Korean & some things are phrased a little strange, but it will work.
