I was driving by the Mahindra storage lot an managed to get a picture. Turns out the blue tractor is a Lenar 254. Is Lenar going to private lable for Mahindra?

Charlie, Lenar has been in the tractor biz for a while, I wonder if Lenar is simply going to be doing some joint shipping/storage with Mahindra and sharing the channels of distribution together? The make them in China, and have at least one unit that was designed specifically for North America and it meets all OSHA requirements to be used commercially. It is common in my industry for competing manufacturers to use the same channels when going to market. Just a thought.

I have no insite why it was there. Any speculation by anyone is as likely as any to be correct. This was the only one on the storage lot. The lot is a couple acres and is full of tractors. The only reason I speculate on a new Mahindra line is Mahindras willingness to relable TYM (is that the right co, CRS) and Mitsubiti already.

This storage lot is where the Mahindra assembly plant in Tomball stores its tractor waiting for delevery to dealers. It is not a dealers lot.

I went and did a Google search and found the home page for Lenar tractors. They seem to have their act together if you can believe what they write about their quality control and their new assembly plant. But there was a lot of stuff on their site that IMHO really trashed other brands. Personally, for that reason alone, I'd never buy a Lenar. If Lenar wants to tell me their product is good, I will listen, but when they (or in this case the Lenar website) says that the other stuff is junk, then it does not speak to me. We have one rule in our sales department where I work, that is if you every trash the competition you will be fired. We never say anything bad about the other guys but we will toot our own horn. I think it is a better way of doing business. I believe Lenar has a long way to go to earn my business.

Now, by comparison, go to the Mahindra site and you see the history of the tractors and the company, you see all sorts of good things about their machines, full of facts. That is the type of website that instills confidence.
