I'm looking for the site that sells the quick attach hitch/ball that lets you move a trailer with your front end loader. I just can't remember where I saw it.

You see... I've been building a tack room in my barn for my wife's horse stuff (i.e. tack). All of the stuff that will go in the tack room has been moved into our 3-horse gooseneck trailer. Since the trailer has open slats in the top half, I keep moving it in and out of the barn to keep the stuff inside from getting wet during rainy weather. So... I thought I would get this clamp on trailer hitch to save me the work of hooking the trailer up to our F-350 (which my wife drives to work every day).

Dax, I had an old gooseneck ball lying around and I cut the threaded shank off and welded the ball on the square upright tube of my 3pt hayspear. It just sits there but when I need to move my cattle trailer in a real messy site, I use it. Is there a downside to welding a ball on the horizontal part of your bucket?

Now if that aint the cats pajamas.

I would have just drilled a hole in the bucket /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif if I needed to run a trailer off the front.

As it is I just use a old 3pt drawbar with a ball mounted to it. I thought about mounting the ball to the drawbar, but this way I dont have to change from the ball to the pin to drag anything with the drawbar.

Varmint that works only thing it pivots a little. I believe there's a thread somewhere on this forum about this subject.

How about the regular tractor mounted drawbar and a ball?

The only reason I use the 3pt drawbar (besides the fact that I had it) is that I dont have to change anything to go from pulling a trailer with the 3pt drawbar to pulling logs with the tractor drawbar.

I just drilled a hole in the edge of the bucket, and carry a spare ball in the 'tool' box. Drop it into the hole, and put a quick hitch pin in it. Used to just thread the nut on, but that took more 'time' so drilled the hole for the quick pin.

The hole is also use for a clevis from which to hang (or thread) a chain through (like when hanging up deer, or loading things in the trailer, or just picking things up with the bucket edge).

Some advantage to your approach to get the tongue further in front of the bucket for 'sharper' turns. Just one more approach.
