I need to buy before April but I have the chance to buy a 4500 4WD at a good dela now or wait for the new 4530 4WD. Any insight as to what makes the 4530 4wd better as it is the replacement for the 4500 4wd?

Vinto - Does that 4530 have a turbo on it? I have the 4500 4WD and it has been a darn good tractor for me. Mine is rated at 45 horse but it won't climb a steep road in 3rd gear high. Maybe a turbo would give it that extra boost. Other than that minor complaint, the 4500 is worth every penny and is a solid workhorse. Without a turbo, that is just one less item to go to heck. I've never had any problems with horsepower working with my 6' brush mower or FEL, or backhoe. If the 4500 versus the 4530 has a significant price difference, opt for the 4500. The 4WD is invincible. I use mine primarily for logging and I've been in swamps with the 4500's belly in the muck and it has always gotten me through with 5,000lbs of logs dragging/floating behind me. I'm always checking for water in the front differential and probably over medicate the 4500 with TLC and mtce. Good Luck in your purchase and enjoy!!!!

It is my understanding the main difference, is the 4530 is more of a flat platform tractor the shifters have been moved to the sides of the seat more like the "10" series platform. no more shifters between the legs.

Scott - That feature alone would definitely make it one "sweet" tractor. At my time of purchase, the flat platform was on the smaller units but for me - it was horsepower versus accesibility. In my line of business, I'm constantly getting on/off the tractor and after a few hundred times of doing this, the contortions are automatic at this point. If the tractor had been a major disappointment to me, I'd probably be mumbling obscenities every time I had to climb up or down. Thankfully, my 4500 has been everything I had hoped and then some. As I wrote before, perhaps a turbo would have been the answer to eke out that last 6 horsepower in regards to the hwy gears.

I visited the Mahindra distribution center in Tomball. Too bad I didn't see any 4530 there. I was told that all dealers want the 4530 so they move out of there fast. From what I know the only changes are for ergonomic like Scott said. I think Mahindra move the 4500 4WD to 4530 to highlight the better gear speeds (8x8 full synchro over 8x2 Partial Sync). Consider the price difference and decide if the change in ergo is worth it.

I also noticed another big difference is that you sacrafice the wet disc brakes upgrading to the 4530. Not sure why they would want to do that.
