Default Trip to Dealer today and my discussion

I decided to post this under a new thread rather than tagging on to others as I thought it might be good "New" Data. I decided to take a drive to a dealer today, didn't get anything written down but was told that with the current incentives now on "Cash" deals I could pick up the basic 2 wd 5500 for just a little under $12,000 and a 6000 just under $13,000. I also was told that the 260 FEL installed was about $4200 , that would put the 6000 with a FEL at about $17,200 how does that sound? According to the Mahindra web they are offering cash off and cash discount in lieu of financing on units. So, what do folks think?

Sounds like a pretty good price and a lot of tractor with the 6000. Look at some of the other manufactures threads and see what people are buying for that kind of money. NH poster was talking about a 40hp hydro. Tractor alone was 17K.

Thanks for the reply, I agree it seems like a good deal, but, To good? I have not seen a list price on the tractors and each dealer seems to have different ideas of what list price is... its like they just make them up! I do like it that the mfg shows the dealer and customer incentives on the web, that helps... but I can't seem to get a straight answer on the List price question.

I am reading alot of the forums, that's how I ended up here, some folks suggested I look at them when I originaly was lookng at Jd, Kabuta and MF.. lots of excellent info here and everyone's needs seem to be a little different, so it takes a bit more time to research..

Actually I'm surprised this thread went so long with so many views with no other replys.. guess it's not a hot spot for people

I have been quoted otd 24,100 on a 6500 fwd w/loader QA. No taxes in Fla if equipment is to be used for agriculture production. I havent priced the size/model you are inquiring about. That price includes the discount if no financing involved. Spread over 20 years a few hundred here or there is not a big deal or worth the worrying factor. Everybody has to make a living some way. I purchased a Long tractor 24 years ago and many people said i should go with namebrand equiipment, it is still good for mowing and hay moving but not man enough for the work i have planned. Good luck and let us know what you get.

Thats right, for a deluxe 40hp Hydro, 4WD. If you drop to a more basic tranny and go to 2WD as well you will find that the NH prices in the same range. Your not making an apples to apples comparison.

when i was shopping last spring, they all were within $1000.00 of each other, i chose mahindra because it was a little stouter, and it was the cheaper one, plus the price included a box blade, shredder and trailer. so actually it was alot cheaper since the others were tract and loader only.

Well, it was about a thousand dollar difference at the base level with this dealer as well, so, that is pretty standard, the deals for cash off are pretty good but go away at the end of the month, but I suspect just like GM, they will have to come up with other incentives given the time of year.. we will wait and see.

When I was pricing the TC40A with 4wd, loader and QA was significantly higher than the 4110. I saved a couple of thousand dollars and ended up with the better tractor.
