Backhoe on a Mahindra

Does anybody have any experience with backhoe attachments on a Mahindra tractor? Do most of the backhoes use remote hydraulic hookups on the back? The tractor that we are looking at does not have the remotes, but we probably will want to add a backhoe in the future. I know that some of them are self-contained, and run their own pump off the PTO.

You can do either. I have a friend that just got a Bradco for his 2810 with the pto pump. There are members here that have run them off the tractor hydraulics as well. I don't have the first hand experience to tell you which is better on which model however.

Hi, I have also recently been looking into getting a backhoe, for my 2810. I've liked what I've seen of Woods equipment, though they seem pricey for new ones. The only used ones I've seen, online, are the 9000's, but Woods said they recommended only the 6500 and the new BH70X's. I guess the PTO pump/engine HP can't keep up with potential loading??

On the web the Bradco and Bush Hog units look good too, and my local dealer sells/installs the Land Pride backhoes, so I'll probably take a look at those also.

It would be nice to be able to try out different units somewhere, or at least read some comparison info.

Any suggestions to any of this?

I have the 509 Mahindra (Bradco built) backhoe on my 4110.
I do not have the PTO pump with tank, mine runs off the power beyond port at the loader valve (typical Mahindra dealer installation)
My dealer would have sold me the pump/tank setup but said I would be fine without it.
Most of his backhoes sold are without the pump. He had a customer that wanted the pump & tank removed after purchasing & using it setup that way.
Mine works fine off the tractor hydraulics but I wouldnt mind to try a pump setup to really see if it has more power and/or speed.

The PTO pump set up allows a little more flow at lower engine RPMs, but the 4110 works great on the tractor hydraulics. I'd stay with the Bradco built and Mahindra branded backhoe on all the 10 series.

I have a Mahindra 2810 gear. It has a Bradco 3375 backhoe with a pto pump. I run the engine at 1200 rpm and it works great. I would advise anyone to buy the Bradco.

I run a 2810HST with the 3375 hoe run off the tractor hydrolics. The machine has over 400 hours and a lot of that is with the backhoe. It works just fine.

I looked at a lot of different machines before I bought the Mahindra, and what sold me was the Dayco hoe with the sub frame setup. You don't lose any ground clearance and the hoe comes off and goes on easy.

The Mahindra tractors with the Dayco BH work well for not being manufacted as a TLB.

Hey, thanks for the info. My Mahindra 2810 is gear also, and I guess an '03 or so - not sure how to tell, got it used this past summer (and love it!). I'm surprised the Bradco 3375 works with such low eng rpm. I would have thought it needed more. I don't see any flow info in their online specs.

I'd also like to run a log splitter cyl off either the hoe or tractor hydraulics, and thought I might get more flow off the backhoe. Tractor has 5.7 GPM. Also have thought it'd be fun to rig up a hydraulic thumb on (off) the hoe.

Does the Bradco hoe use a subframe on all their units? Also, how is ground clearance with the 3375?

Dave, I couldn't find anything on Dayco backhoes. Do you have any contact info?

I would recommend the PTO pump for the backhoe. Depending on the model of your tractor, the hydraulic capacities on the Mahindra's aren't real high. Example, the 3510 has a capacity of about 13 gallons total, that's both rear hyd. and power steering. It'll run the hoe, but it's gonna be slow.
