Im brand new to this board, and actually brand new to "tractor shopping". A fella has a 2005 Mahindra 6500 with a FEL and 78 hrs of use. It got full servicing at 50 hrs. It appears to be in excellent shape. No evidence of leaks. He traded up for a bigger Mahindra with a cab. The motor starts right up and sounds good. I drove it but didn't get to put it to any work. He is asking $24,000 for it and I have no idea if this is a fair price for such a machine. It looks almost brand new with no dents, dings, or scratches to speak of.

For the tractor alone. That means without the FEL I assume. And is that the list for a new one, how do you figure in 78 hrs of use? Im sorry I am so uninformed, but like I said, I am completely new to this.

Things to consider.
Interest rate assuming you have to borrow money. I just got 0% interest for 3 years on my new Mahindra. Warranty. Does this tractor have any warranty left? If it does will it transfer? I would go to the dealer and price a new machine then I would know if it was a good price or not. Don

i agree with Don. go to the dealer and price out the same exact tractor (same options), and see what your monthly payment would be with the low mahindra finance rate. by the sounds of things, that would include the following: tractor, loader and loaded rear tires. if you are paying with cash though, you may have a better deal with the used unit that is close to brand new. just my 2 cents....good luck!

Might be hard to compare head to head, (this machine vs. a new one). I purchased my 6500 in April 2005. Standard were two rear remotes, front weights and other "stuff" that I think are no longer offered on the basic machine.
78 hrs. is not many. If it is what you want and the price is right...Let us know what your research turns up.
