Well, I forgot about the Kubota 4330 w/fel. Dealer was too proud of it.
Started looking at Mahindra, two models I like are the 4110 and the 4530 (both 4wd). About the same price, both about 40 hp.. Noticed several here on the board like the heaver weight of the 4530. The 4530 weights about 1,500 lbs. more than the 4110. Even more than that with the front end loader. But for a little more money ($1500 to $2000) you can step up to a 5500 4wd w/fel. I think it is 700 lbs more than the 4530. I am near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, lots of flat land. Need a tractor for medum clearing and dirt spreading + some farming. I have a 16 foot trailer rated at about 7,000 lb GVW. Does anyone haul a 4110 w/fel on this size trailer or do I need something heaver? Got a price on the 4110 w/fel for $19,000.00 and the 4530 w/fel for $19,800. Before taxes and insurance. Free financing for 24 months on the 4110. 36 months free on the 4530 or 5500. Does this price sound about right? You know if I have to buy a heaver trailer I would just as soon get either the 4530 or the 5500. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Hope to pick one up next week.

You'll need a heavier trailer. 7000 GVW includes the weight of the trailer. The 4110 with FEL and loaded rears will be too heavy, and if there is an attachment on the 3pth, way too heavy.

I haul my 4110 on a 20' flat trailer that is rated for 14,000 gross, the trailer weighs 3040 lbs. I would not want to haul on a lesser trailer, I've hauled about 3,000 miles with this rig. Brakes on both axles. A 16' trailer will not haul your 4110 w/FEL and any implement on the hitch. With my boxblade on, I have barely enough room for my ramps to stand up (leaning forward slightly). When I have my 6' rotary cutter on, I have to back the tractor onto the trailer and hang the cutter out over the tongue a couple feet. You really need the couple extra feet so you can get your load placed right - i.e. tongue weight. Ideally I would want a 22'-24' trailer. or a 20' dovetail but this 20' just gets me by. By the way, I pull it with a 2000 F250 Super Duty 4x4 diesel.

Thanks, Looks like I will be trailer shopping this week. May be truck shopping also!!!! Did find an 18ft., 14,000 gross for $2735.00. (Elect. Brakes on both axles.) A 20ft goose-neck would be nice, but I would definately need another truck. May be able to get by with picking up tractor first then get the front end loader.

i use an 18' four ton equip trailer for my 4110 w/ FEL and loaded tires. it has brakes on both of the axels and works great for me. if i had a backhoe, i would probably be over weight though.

I paid $19350 for my 4110 w/FEL in May '05, that is an excellent price. I would take the 4530 at an extra $800.

Does the price on the 4530 include rear remote valves? Any other options? The Mahindra website has MSRP w/out front loader at just over $19K.

I am thinking about trading in my Ford tractor, but I have two concerns about the 4530. The first is that I already have a heavy duty Alamo rotary clipper which manual says min 35HP. The other is the weight of the tractor. I looked at one on the lot and love that it is built like a tank, but trailering it will raise other issues which this thread has already discussed.

Defender,

I am in Greensburg and have the 4530. I just bought it this year and love it so far. I can't help you with the trailer, but if you want to get in touch and arrange a visit, you are welcome to come look at mine in action before you buy.
I didn't go with a trailer because I bought the tractor to keep my place up, not to haul it around to everyone else that wants "favors". My excuse was if I don't have a trailer, then I don't have a way to loan it out or have it torn up on somebody else's projects. It sounds mean, but you will be surprised how many "friends" you get when you have something they need. If I did go with a trailer it would be at least a 20' with 5500lb axles. You need to decide if you really need to haul it from place to place. If not, scratch the trailer and have the dealer it, but insist they do it at no charge!
Also, I don't have the FEL - didn't need one. I did get a bush hog, box blade, and disc (all 6') for $19,200 from Singleton's in Franklinton. I tried Gulf South and Liberty, but didn't like them for different reasons.

PM me for my phone number or email and we can arrange something if you like.

brbob - The 4530 I looked at did not have the rear remote valves. Several dealers have the 4530 (standard) for around $19,800.00 with the FEL. Gulf South Equip. in Baton Rouge was the highest at around $20,500.00. However he orders them with the optional remote valves. I think that option is only about $250.00, I could be wrong. Yep, Mahindras from the 4530 on up get really heavy. I am impressed with the increased capacity of the FEL on the 4530 and is why I may go with it over the 4110.

cdover73- I would like to see your 4530, I wll PM you with phone number. I kind of got things backward I need the FEL and got to buy tractor to get it. The thing that detracts from the 4530 is that it is not the most portable thing out there. I will be working it in a few different places, so that is a consideration. I got the best prices from Liberty and Singleton's. Between the two I like Singleton's. Gulf South was a little high, but they do a booming business. Went by there a week later most of their tractors were gone that I looked at. They are waiting for new shipments.
