Default Question on casing

This is going to difficult to explain, but today while plowing some snow from my driveway, I noticed some red stains in the snow where I was parked at. I thought that maybe it was hydraulic fluid and searched every fitting on the tractor.
When I looked under the tractor (2615 gear), I found no signs of liquid loss. I did discover something that has me concerned. On the left side of the case that houses the tranmission fluid, I found a small hole just above one of the bolts. It was oval in shape. I know that there are other holes in the casings for different things, but this one is not normal. I wanted to take a photo of it, but I could not get a good angle on it. Nothing is leaking at the present time, however there is no reason for a hole to be in this location....
Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Your trans fluid should not be red anyway.
The only fluid that is red would be fuel and thats only if you are buying non taxable fuel.

I agree with you. The only thing that I can think of is the red grease that the dealer greased the FEL with. I think that when the hydraulic cylinders get warm, the snow and grease mix together and then drip.
I am more concerned with the hole that I discovered.

Since no one knows about this...are there any tractor dealers that may know what this may be?

Does that look normal to you? I think it may be a bad casting. I hate to complain, but I think that since its on the transmission case, it could turn into a problem down the road.

Have you tried emailing any of those pictures to your dealer?

It's hard for me to tell without a clear picture, and trust me I realize that's not an easy task. Maybe someone else with a 2615 can chime in.

I told my dealer about it, and explained it to him. He is supposed to take a look at it sometime soon I hope.
