| Tractor colors I suppose I could have posted this in the discussions, but I know others wander in here.
What would it mean if Mahindra were green?
And what would you do if Kubotas were blue?
A red New Holland? I don't think so.
John Deere in orange? Please say it ain't so.
In all seriousness. What if John Deere tractors were orange? Do you think they'd sell as many? Same goes for blue Kubotas. Imagine a green Mahindra.
To clarify this, I am referring to compacts, and agricultural tractors. I know some Deere stuff is yellow.
Weird thought, huh?

| Re: Tractor colors Shoot, I have seen John Deere in green, orange and yellow. Just depends on the industry it's used in as to what color it is. |

| Re: Tractor colors The Kansas highway department paints them all yellow or orange, for safety I'd guess.

| Re: Tractor colors Never really thought about it.
Don't think the color means all that much,as long as it fits the needs of the operator.....okay,okay I admit I draw the line when it comes to a pink color tractor.

Kubota has done the same with orange for it's product line. Orange is now the yuppie status symbol around here... and efforts to copy it by Kioti were vigorously fought. Blue is just a way of figuring out that New Holland is really the old Ford. Many have chosen fire engine red as their product's color... the historical default color for farm equipment (at least in my area) derived from the old IH/Farmall days.
The bottom line is that there is a lot of history and product/trademark identification tied up in these colors and I don't think they are ever going to change. Of course, you've also got your trouble makers out there like Brian (MtnViewRanch) who choose to buck the system and cannot leave well enough alone!!! It just confuses us all!!!
Good thing he is otherwise a fairly nice guy!

| Re: Tractor colors Hea! What do you mean fairly nice guy? I'm top notch, just ask Dave's Tractor. And by the way, I'm working on my aversion to red, it might take some time though.
