Has anyone got any prices on the new Massey Ferguson 2605 tractor?

Thanks,

I went to the MF dealer looked at the MF2605 and the salesman told me they were around $13,900
A couple of poster here were telling me it is a pretty good tractor and they liked the choice they made.

So I am seriously thinking about buying one. It would be a great improvement over my 231.

Haycutter.

Wow! $13,900 is a good price compared to the 231 back in 1999 (last production year). It sold for $13,000 back then. So yes I'd surely say that is an excellent price on the 2605.

This thread is old. Back in 2007 when I bought my used 1998 Massey 231 on 08-08-2007 with 1,167 hours. I am currently on the tractor as I type this message (fixing to plant my garden). This has been the best tractor I've ever owned.

I've only had to replace a couple fuses, the temperature gage and radiator cap (just this week), and a battery since I've had it.
If I bought another tractor I'd look hard at the Mahindras. But deep down I know there's nothing out there like a Massey Ferguson and that's probly what I'd end up with. I honestly don't feel I'd be satisfied with anything else.

Good luck on your purchase and PLEASE POST PICS!

***EDIT FROM MY LAST POST***

When I bought my 231 on 08-08-2007, it had only 480 hours... The 1,167 hours is what it had about a month ago... Now it has 1,185 hours as of today and it's been as tough as a pine lighter knot.

I guess what would be the biggest complaint of the 2605 would be no differential lock. But that's only my opinion.
I can honestly say that in the 7 years I've had my 231, I could count on 1 hand how many times I've used the diff lock.
It'll either get you out of a tough situation or make the situation tougher to get out.

I would get a 2615 not 2605. I think I'm right but you also get wet brakes with 2615. Just better tractor all around. I'm also very happy that MF hasn't followed some of the other manufactures just making a cheap tractor. With MF you get a heavy built machine. The series we're discussing doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but is built like a tank. My 2004 461 is so heavy and well built I just can't stand it. :)

I do not have a pic, nor have I ever been on a 2605. All you would have to do is do a google search and type in "Massey Ferguson 2605" and click on "images".

I was comparing the 231 to the 2605 because they are comparable MF tractors.

In 2000, the 231 was replaced with the 231S. Then the 231S was replaced by the 431, and the 431 was replaced by the 533, then the 533 was replaced with the 2605. I think this is accurate but I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.

Other than the 231, I'm not sure how many years the models listed above were in production before they were replaced by the other model.

I have a brochure of the MF 2600 series. I will post some pictures of the 2605 and 2615 if I can find it.
If it were me, and finances allowed, no question I'd choose the 2615 over the 2605.

Did you buy yourself a new tractor yet?
I bought the 2605 and a Mahrindra SD bushhog a couple of months ago, I was looking at the MF2615 which would have been a awsum tractor but the price was the "ran me off factor". So far this tractor is performing verywell. If I had known that MF was going to offer some rebates and discount during the summer I might have waited to get those deals, but my 231 was driving me bonkers. On the 2605 there is no differential lock, in my thinking if I go somewhere where I need the differential lock I might not need to be there...lol

I bought a 2605 and like it. Its is more of a old style tractor, so it doesn't have some of the bells and whistles. Would have liked diff lock but haven't really missed it with 4x4. Would have liked a 2615 but price was more than I wanted to pay. I got the 4x4 with FEL and have not noticed a problem with the brakes. Only have about 55 hrs on it, so am not using it much . The fuel usage is great so far. Its even better than the MF135 Diesel I traded in. Its a bigger and heavier tractor than then MF135 tho.
