Default Massey sickle bar

Hi all,

I have an old Massey sickle bar mower that has a tag for the model and serial # on it. There is no model # stamped on this tag but has the serial # stamped on it. Before what I think is the serial #, is the # 238.
Did Massey make a model 238 sickle bar? And if they did, are wear parts (guards, knives etc) still available?
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

Massey Harris & Massey Ferguson Tractors Discussion Board - Re: MF 238 Sickle bar mower service manual

I've seen several MF 41 sicklebar mowers sell on eBay.

Thanks for the response Flusher.
This is a belt drive and has a cast iron Dynabalance housing on it. There is no model # on the mower. After looking on other boards, I think it is a model #31 as #41 had a plate steel Dynabalance head.

I would like to re-build the bar if I can find some reasonably priced parts. I have had this mower for a about 16 years but have never found guards or a knife to fit it.

Thanks,

Paul
