Default Need info on 500 series tractor

I'm looking at the 583 and 593 series model for my farm operation. I have a small beef herd and need tractor for haying. I have a New Holland Disc Bin 411 cutter and was told that I would need pto hp of over 80 to run it. Does anyone have any feedback on these models. Thanks

I had a 481 which is the earlier series of the 583. Never had a single problem in nearly 500 hrs of use in 3 years on the tractor itself. I had 1 warranty claim on a bent loader bracket.(was most likely my fault, but they warrantied it anyway.) The 583 is supposed to have somewhat better hydraulic flow than the early 481's. I traded the 481 for a cab 596. It was a pain in the neck. Traded it back in after 200 hrs and 6 warranty visits for a 5455.(details in the MF owning and operating forum) I actually blame the dealership more than the tractor. I don't feel they where fixing it correctly. Anybody else that I have talked to with one was very satisfied with theirs. A neighbor bought a 583 open station to use as a loader tractor in his chicken houses. He has had one glitch with a faulty pto lever sensor not letting the tractor start the first month he had it. 7 months later he is using it hard and is very satisfied with it.
Just remember that they are generally "plain jane" utility tractors. They don't have some of the bells and whistles, but they are considerably cheaper than the higher end models.
