Anyone on here used either side by side? For the price difference (approx 1-1.5k i'm told) I think the 2625 would be the better buy. Any pros/cons of the tractor?

I would go with the larger of the two. You will never regret it in the long run.

I owned two MF2625 tractors, one was an 8x2 MFWD and the other was an 8x8 shuttle MFWD. I definitely would not recommend this tractor. The first 2625 was the 8x2 and by 7 hours had already developed a leak on the side of the engine, also had a leaking oil filter which was easily replaceable, but still only 7 hours. I traded the 8x2 for two reasons: 1. I planned on putting a loader on. 2. On the 8x2(which is live pto) it was always a pain to put the pto on, it almost had to be forced into position. Now the 8x8 was the biggest piece of junk I've bought. After only 30 hours of being "babied" the tractor developed a hydraulic leak, an oil leak from the crankshaft pulley seal(the whole front of the tractor was taken apart to fix this), and a radiator leak not sure where this leak originated from. I have since sold the tractor and I'm disappointed in Massey Ferguson for there lack of quality control. I've talked to three different dealers and they all tell me the 2600 series are having problems just like I discussed. I love Massey Ferguson tractors, but not the 2600 series. I would save my money and buy the 2600HD series before investing in a money pit 2615 or 2625. The HD series is pretty much a 500 series with a few more options, they're made in brazil not India like the 2600 series. Well I hope this helped some, and good luck with your purchase.

I agree with the above poster. Stay away from the 2600 Series MF tractors. MF has a lot of good tractors. This is not one of them.

Good luck!

well this is disappointing as i too have been looking at them hard. I wonder if these issues are being resolved considering this is a new model? If not i may look for an older 461 or 563.

The are referring to the light duty 2600 series with issues as they are built in india.

The 2600HD is a direct replacement for the 500 series, built in the same plant in Brazil.

I have had my 2615 for 2 years. No problems, runs perfect. I have a 200 acre farm and use it for light to medium duty work. Have bigger tractors for the heavy duty work. 2615 fit my needs wells. Cannot complain.

Have owned a 2615 and traded it for a 4 wd 2625. I love the tractor and have only one complaint - the PTO engagement button has a tendency to break. It is a very cheap part and I have sent my complaints to MF. For those of worried about where engine is built, take a look at the plates on most similar tractors - most are all made overseas!

Use my 2625 for light to medium farm work and it has performed flawlessly. I purchased it for some $3,500 less than a similar model JD and am pleased with that decision.

PTO switch has been fixed - part number has not changed but get the one with "M2" marked on it.
