Tractor
Massey-Ferguson 165
I have found a MF 165 tractor in pretty good shap, it will be my first tractor , I was wondering if there were any common problems with this series tractor.

They all have a tendency to have font and rear main leaks. If it ain't too bad, don't worry about it. Check your rear rims for rust thru, especially around the valve stem. Look for slobbering around the exhaust manifold. Stay with Diesel. Not unusual for them to have a lot of play in the steering, however, not hard to fix. Ken Sweet

Thanks for the advice, y did you say stay with a diesel? Is there something wrong with gas motors, because the one i looked at was gas, it seemed to run good.

It is hard to keep fuel in the gassers and on top of that, it is hard to find one without at least 1 plug oil fouling out. If all the plugs are brand new or 1 plug looks different that the rest, run in the opposite direction. I never buy that "I just tuned it up" pitch. Ken Sweet
