I don't think the Sub compacts wants that much weight on the 3 point lift. Some of the tractor owners can chime in with what the owners manual says? Ken Sweet

489 is well within the allowable weight. You gotta think, it doesn't exert as much down force as something that hangs back farther behind the tractor, like a rotary kutter, simply b/c the tiller is much closer to the tractor, and not hanging so far behind the tractor.

The GC2400 says 1190lbs lift at hitch point

Yeah... I knew we were well within the hitch specs.

I worked for MF in their Sales Engineering dept. when they were introducing the GC series of tractors way back when. They were nice then, and I feel they kept improving them.

FWIW, I consider Most tractors sub compacts that are 15-20 hp or under and have narrow cat 1 or narrow cat 0 lift arm pins on the 3 point hitch. The tractors that are truly subcompacts will not handle almost 500 lbs. Been there and done that. Compacts are a different story (20+ hp) they are spaced normal and are cat 1 on the 3 point hitch. For what it's worth, bought a king kutter II 60" for my New Holland T1510 (30hp) this past spring from Rural King up in Clarksville TN- $1399; here's a link:

King Kutter 5' Gear Driven Tiller TG-60-Y America's Farm & Home Store

Fitment is tight on the 3 point hitch lower bars- seems the king kutter lift points are spread out 2" too far on both sides so it takes some muscle to spread the lower bars (need to buy one of those 3 point quick hitch adapters). Even though it's weighty (690 lbs), no problems with lifting on the NH with no front end weights and non-liquid filled tires on the tractor.

Otherwise tills the ground into some of the finest soil I've ever seen or felt. Can't wait to till this spring. Just wish we had a Rural King here in Nashvegas :(

FYI, my book says ship weight 524lbs on the TC-48-XB

Now, is that model centered on the tractor? It does not appear to be adjustable like others.

I also do not see a cutting depth mentioned. Do you by chance have that info?

One thing I did like about the Tonutti was the clevis style hookups. Would be nice if the KK had that on it.

The TC-48-XB is a previous model. The current model is the TG-48-XB. Both are centered and generally cover the tracks of what the industry refers to as a sub-compact tractor such as a BX Kubota or GC Massey Ferguson.
