    Default 1648 versus 6408

Am in the market for my first tractor. My property is 100 acres that is very hilly. The driveway is 3/4 mile long and goes up 800 feet. Live in NH where there is a lot of snow in the winter. I am looking to do the following: clear land using brush hog and logging winch. What I can't move (rocks) I will hire a bull dozer. Clear driveway of snow in the winter. Not sure if I will use a blade or blower, but would like the option. Eventually want to have a few goats and/or sheep with pastures. Will get a FEL, front remotes, dual rear remotes and a grapple.

The dealer quoted $42k for the 1648 and $52k for the 6408. The other tractor I am considering is the Kioti RX6010. Kioti seems to have a lot of nice features, but dealer, dealer's location and reputation are sketchy.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

I have to say the 1600 series are nice machines. There like the Cadilac of tractors.

I think the 1600 will be a good match for the tasks at hand.

    Good luck in your search.

When looking at tractors a little over a year ago looked at 1648 and Kubota 4740. Really liked the 1648 but was worried about rubber hoses instead of metal ones under tractor. Ended up with Kubota 5240 which is more hp to pto. It was so close in choice if I had to do it again would chose 1648 or maybe 1652 for added hp and larger displacement of motor. You could not go wrong with 1648 in my opinion

Look at the tadks you want to use it for, if the 1648 may be maxed out, het the 4608.
    Thanks,
