Is the 1600 series being discontinued and replaced by the 1700 eventually? It looks like the 1700 is close in size and specs to the 1600 except with cleaner diesel engines. I searched the Web and couldn't really find anything to answer this question.

They will be upgraded to the new engines, thats all, from what I hear.

Why Mitsu engines?

I would guess to meet the tier 4 final requirements for 2014.
The Massey site has information but nothing on the build my massey section. Wonder about the cost.
Have a MF1440V with a turbo, very strong engine. Would use it more if it had HST, these days the knees do not take well to much clutch usage.

No powershuttle? Next tractor will be CVT of some kind.

No the shuttle and gears require using the clutch every time. The effort is light and when I bought it the knees were much better. The cost to upgrade is more than I am willing to pay. It does have a back hoe on it so gets used for digging mostly.

The 1700 series has Mitsubishi engines that are Tier IV. The 1600 series has Iseki engines, Tier IV interim. Seems that on the 1700 they offer only HST and 12x12 PS. I am not sure whether it applies also to the new 1700 series, but full blown Tier IV does involve urea treatment starting at a certain hp level.

Wow, What just happened there?

The Hydro tractors will be a little more advanced than current models. Electric speed limitations and control over how the pedal reacts to movement if I remember right.

There will be some economy models coming with standard transmissions for the low end needs.

New cab with a nicer seat & better visibility.
